My name is Lilleth Glimcher.
I make performance, build objects, and create live sound scores with my voice and others. I choreograph bodies and move my body. I make experiential, immersive installations, and create video projects. I also direct performance and film in collaboration with other artists.
My current work explores questions about race, gender, dreams, time, and the nature of reality.
I’m the founder and artistic director of YOU ARE HERE (@yah.world), centering queer and trans people of color through transdisciplinary arts, healing, and community-building. I believe in the power of humans in a room together. I also believe in equitable access to self-care, healing, and expression as a route to a more just world. I aim to make work that fights to actually destroy white supremacy. Some methodologies I’m working on.
My work and direction has been shown at The New York Philharmonic, Abrons Art Center, The American Academy in Rome, the 2018 P-E-O-P-L-E Festival in Berlin, DAAD Galerie Berlin, National Sawdust, The Capri Marfa, Pace Gallery, Dixon Place, Ars Nova, the Westbeth Artist Building, The Flea Theater, Alpha Space, The Future of Storytelling, and myriad site specific locations.
I have also associate and assistant directed for Ashley Fure, Ivo Van Hove, César Alvarez, 600 Highwaymen, Lila Neugebauer, Niegel Smith, Robert Whitman, André Gregory, Lily Whitsitt, Shira Milikowksy, Teddy Bergman, and other artists across disciplines.
I graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Psychology and secondary in Dramatic Arts.
